Reference: National Regatta Rules MAY 2006 (Fifth Edition).
1. The 2009 Northern Area Pulling and Boat Handling Regattas will take place on Sunday 7Jun 09. The Area Pulling Regatta will be held at Great Harbour, Greenock with the Boat Handling Regatta taking place at Port Edgar Boat Station. Teams are to be in position no later than 0930; late entries will not be accepted. The competition will start at 1000 and be completed the same day. Winners at the Area Pulling and Boat Handling Regattas are not eligible to enter the Canoe Regatta.
2. Eligibility (All cadets must be fully enrolled)
Juniors: Over 12 and under 15 on 24 Aug 09
(i.e. born between 24 Aug 94 and the 21 Aug 97)
Open: Over 12 and under 18 on 24 Aug 09
(i.e. born between 24 Aug 91 and the 21 Aug 97)
Yole Open: Over 12 and under 18 on 24 Aug 09
(i.e. born between 24 Aug 91 and the 21 Aug 97)
Yole Junior Over 12 and under 15 on 24 Aug 09
(i.e. born between 24 Aug 94 and the 21 Aug 97)
Boat Handling Open Over 12 and under 18 on 24 Aug 09
(i.e. born between 24 Aug 91 and the 21 Aug 97)
Once a cadet has reached the age of 18, he/she can no longer take part. All ages are to be personally checked by the District Officers. No Cadet may be entered in more than one age group.
3. Qualifications
Pulling Coxswain must hold a minimum of coxswain
Yole No qualification is required for the “Yole”
Crew must be mixed
One crew per age group per District.
Pulling Boat Handling Supervised Coxswain
Sail Boat Handling Sailing level 2 YSS level 3
Power Boat Handling Power Level 1 (Displacement)
Valid Certificates must be produced to ARO or OOD on Sunday at the Regatta site.
